Annual Report 2012-13
The pass % of Class XII was 93.8% and the average performance index was
72 %. Shalini Gupta stood first in school scoring 97.2% and 2nd in Bangalore
region , Vidya Ramasamy got the second position scoring 96.4% and 4th Position
in Bangalore Region and R. Dhanvanthri was ranked third with 96% and 6th in
Bangalore Region. Six students received the Certificate of Merit from CBSE in
English and two students received it for Physics. This certificate is given only to
0.1 % of the total number of students who appeared for AISSE Exam all over India.
In the past session, five students have qualified in IIT. Shalini Gupta
is studying in IIT Kanpur, Vidya Ramasamy in IIT Chennai, Dhanvanthri in IIT
Guwahati, Abin Alex and Mayank Arora opted to study in NIT Surathkal . These
students have been given a cash award of Rs 5000/- each by KVS
Three of the above mentioned students namely Shalini Gupta, Vidya
Ramasamy and Dhanvanthri are also KVPY awardees.
Our achievements in Sports have proved to be shining examples of what
Sportsmanship and dedication can achieve. 123 of our students participated at
the Regional level Sports competitions and 18 were selected to participate in
KVS Nationals which were held at Lucknow and Mumbai. 4 students from these
are selected to represent KVS in the SGFI competition to be held in various parts
of the country. These 4 students are : Master. Goutham of X C for swimming,
Master Rakshith of IX C for Table Tennis, Sanjay P of XI B for Kabbaddi and
Prathik of V B for Skating. Our school has also been the venue for Cricket
coaching camps and has hosted Under 19 Cricket matches at the Regional level.
Our school has also made its mark in the Science and Social Science
exhibitions held by KVS at the Cluster and Regional levels. B. Prasanth who
made a model on Natural Resources and their Conservation has been selected
to compete at the National Level Exhibition likely to be held in Calcutta Region.
Hityashini of XI B was selected to participate in the National Science Congress
at KV Begumpet, Hyderabad. In the Social Science exhibition conducted at the
Cluster level karthik Dhavan of Class XII bagged the 3rd position in English debate.
At the Regional level five charts and five albums of our students on Arunachal
Pradesh and Brazil were selected for the National level exhibition.
We have many budding mathematicians too. In the KVS Junior Maths
Olympiad, Vishnu of X C was ranked fourth at the Regional level and 18th at
National Level. He has been selected to attend a training for INMO at KV IIT
Chennai from 15th December to 24th December. Prajit T.R and Shashank of XI A
were both ranked fifth at Regional level and 28th at the National level in the same
competition.
Our Vidyalaya was also the venue for the Regional level Mathematical Year
celebrations.
Our performance in co-curricular activities has also been commendable.
Amogh Inamdar of Class IX A won the Junior Anchor Competition conducted by
News 9. Two other students Vedant Chakravarthy and Surabhi reached the final
round of the same competition. Amogh Inamdar will soon be contacted by the
channel to anchor a TV show for children on current affairs.
S. Shivani of Class IX A took part in the State Level Essay Writing
competition conducted by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board on World
Environment Day and bagged the II prize.
Sushma I of Class XII B visited Japan under the JENESYS Programme which is
a youth exchange programme.
Pankaj R of Class VI C took part in the Bangalore District level Karate
tournament and bagged the II prize in the 10-14 years category.
Master Prajith T.R. of class XI authored a novel “The Radiant Waves”.
The Guides and Scouts movement is very active in our school. 9 Guides and
2 Scouts attended the Tritiya Sopan testing camp at Vasco and Mysore. 2 Guides
and 2 Scouts successfully attended the Rajya Puraskar testing camp at KV AFS
Yelahanka and KV CRPF.
Last year we introduced the NCC in our Vidyalaya. Mr. Arvind Shrivas
PGT(CS) underwent three month training at the NCC headquarters at Nagpur. In
accordance with the changing times we have put the movement on track so that
the students can get a platform for participation and training. They will get ‘A’
certificate after two years of training.
The primary section has implemented the Common Minimum program
very meticulously and effectively. Computer Aided learning and Technology
Aided learning, film shows are regular features. The school celebrated Grand
Parents Day and a Cluster Level Mini Sports meet was organized to commemorate
Childrens’ Day.
We have committed teachers and supportive staff. The dedication and
guidance they offer our students goes a long way in helping our institution to
achieve its objectives. Four staff members of our Vidyalaya , namely Mrs. Prema
HM ,Mrs. Alka Rastogi TGT Hindi, Mrs. Sangeeta Chopra PRT and Mr. Upendra LDC
have been transferred to places of their choice and convenience. Their vacancies
have been filled by Ms. A. Remya TGT Hindi, Mrs. P Sumathy TGT English and
Mr.Jitendra Bhat PRT.
Two of our teachers Mrs. G. Ponshankari and Mrs. AD. Hema have received
commendation and appreciation for their outstanding and excellent teaching
skills.
Our school has been the venue for PGT Inservice course for Physics and
Mrs. Suchimitha Mahanty TGT SST, Mr. Satish TGT Maths and Mrs. Sumathy TGT
English attended the In- service training course .
Dr. A.K. Chaubey too attended the course in the capacity of a resource person
I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to the management for the
renovation done in the school. This includes the painting of the school building,
electrical fittings and the repair work and Primary building roof treatment for
leakage. Efforts are on to persuade the management to get a few more rooms
constructed .The school has also purchased a Globus Magic studio and an
interactive Board to make the teaching learning process more interesting and
effective.
Finally before concluding, I wish to reaffirm the commitment of our
Vidyalaya to the community to groom young minds to take the challenges of
life with dignity and grace. We are blessed to have a community of Parents, PTA
and VMC who have devoted their time and energies to the development of our
Vidyalaya. I express my heartfelt gratitude to them.
We rejoice in the success we have achieved, at the same time we shall
endeavor to overcome our shortcomings. We look forward with a sense of hope
towards greater growth and progress.
